See How Colour-Matched Repairs Work

Small marks don’t mean big problems — they just need the right touch.

Everyday knocks happen

Even the best-fitted doors can pick up the occasional scrape, chip, or tiny dent — maybe from keys, parcel deliveries, or just daily use.
The good news? You don’t need to live with them.
As part of your Protect My Door treatment, we can repair small cosmetic marks so they blend perfectly into the surface again.

These aren’t quick cover-ups; they’re precision repairs that bring the door back to its best — often in minutes.

How colour matching really works

No two doors fade exactly the same.
Sunlight, heat, and pollution all change the tone of a gelcoat over time, which means a simple “off-the-shelf” filler will almost never match.

That’s why we use digital spectrometer technology — the same kind of tool used in professional paint laboratories.
It reads the door’s exact colour profile, taking into account subtle pigment shifts caused by weathering.

Using that reading, we blend a premium hard-wax filler with custom pigments until it’s a precise match to your door’s current shade.
It’s the difference between “close enough” and “can’t tell it was ever there.”

The finishing process

Once the repair blend is ready, the filler is gently applied to the affected area, levelled, and polished until it sits perfectly flush with the surrounding gelcoat.
We then seal the area with a protective finish that bonds with the rest of the surface, so the repair doesn’t just look invisible — it lasts.

It’s the same method used in high-end furniture and automotive detailing, adapted for composite doors.

Why matching matters

Even a tiny colour mismatch can draw the eye — especially on modern doors where tones are bold and consistent.
By matching exactly to your existing shade (not just the original factory colour), we make sure every repair disappears into the background.
The result? A door that looks genuinely cared for, not patched.

In simple terms

Little dinks and scratches don’t mean your door needs replacing.
With the right tools and a bit of expertise, we can restore the surface so precisely that even you might struggle to find where the mark was.
It’s small-scale craftsmanship that makes a big difference — and it’s part of what makes every PMD visit so worthwhile.
